A Private Pilot Licence (PPL) allows you to fly as a Pilot-In-Command (PIC) or co-pilot of a Malaysian-registered aircraft (not operated for hire and reward) for the aircraft class or types as endorsed in your license.
Entry Requirements:
- Minimum age of 17
- Must be able to achieve at least Level 4 in Aviation English Language Test
- Completion of Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) or “O” level equivalent for prospective candidates outside Malaysia
- Pass medical examination Class II with a requisite certificate from a CAAM Designated Medical Examiner (applicants are advised to check the CAAM website directly for an up-to-date list of such DME)
Ground School Training Requirements:
MFA offers Ground School training for CAAM PPL. During the Ground School, the entire syllabus is taught in 100 hours over a period of 4 weeks. Below are the subjects taught in PPL Ground School.

Simulator Flown: N/A
Total Flight Training including PPL flight test: 40 hours minimum
